I used to have what felt like forever to perfect what I was draping on a mannequin, but I end up second guessing if I could do it better, so I keep adjusting or I start all over again. On the side, I'm also distracted by the phones ringing, returning emails, attending to my staff and who can forget keeping my studio nice and tidy! After having new priorities, playing a role of a wife and mother, I want to make sure my health is in check, and to have the energy to look after my child as well. I start to eliminate some things off my old list of priorities to make time to focus on not only new priorities but priorities that I’m certain that only I can and should do. With less time in a day but more roles to play, I must choose my task more wisely and I separate each task more clearly. With less time to drape, and feeling more empowered knowing I'm the only one who could work on this task, every decision is made with certainty and I've noticed that I hardly need to go back to rework my draping. At the end of the day, not only am I more efficient, I feel more focused in whatever I’m doing and I perform better when I have more confidence. . . .
